- "... A must read for werewolf and vampire fans alike..."
- "This book was great! Can't wait for book two."
"Unique and exciting! I loved it. There was action and suspense but also emotion and sensitivity. I was amazed at how the characters-- human, werewolf and vampire-- each had their own compelling story that made me love or hate them. Also, the scenery, sounds and other details were described with awesome detail that made it come alive. Great book! I devoured it."
The story is set primarily in the state of Washington and the state of Oregon and makes careful, extensive and deliberate use of real geography in the story telling to add a texture of realism, believability and authenticity seldom seen in stories of its kind.
If you're a hard-core fan of the genre or reading for the first time, you're sure to become a fan of 'TERRITORY'!
Mason Balfour's ' TERRITORY' series weaves an elaborate and epic tale of horror, suspense and drama unlike others of the genre. It turns around the common formula by casting werewolves as the unwilling heroes and casting most of the vampire race as villains. It also offers up an in-depth look at the history and lore of both and their complex social structures and offers a fresh look at the werewolf/vampire myths and legends of history, literature and film while giving fans and readers what they expect from the genre.
'TERRITORY' is a worth-while read for any fan of werewolves and vampires, but will appeal most strongly to fans of the action/horror side of the genre. It's packed with a good dose of action and bloody violence but maintains a balance between well-paced drama and multidimensional characters, all of which is sure to captivate its readers.

The Pacific Northwest. Werewolves, vampires… conflict.
The vampires of North America have come under the scrutiny of the 13th Coven; a rapidly failing leadership quickly losing control over the covens and the whole of the vampire world. They have begun to seek new lands dangerously close to the borders of three wolf clans. The 13th Coven has dispatched the most loyal among them to the Pacific Northwest. They will secure a location for a coven to bring their kind under control, or risk losing all authority and starting the war with wolf-kind that both species have feared for thousands of years.
Leading this fragile endeavor is the fallen Red Marshal Sophia Delacroix of the 13th Coven with her own agenda that could ignite the war. She is pursued by the wolves of The Red Thunder Clan as well as a pack of Pure-Bloods; vampires sworn to hunt and destroy their own kind. Allied with an army of diseased and exiled vampires known as Shadow-Walkers, Sophia will stop at nothing in her quest to wage war against the wolves of The Red Thunder Clan and any who stand against her; wolf and vampire alike.
Caught in the middle is a mortal doctor who must choose between death and leaving his life behind to enter a world that should not exist. He is joined by a young mortal woman on the edge of insanity, her family slaughter by vampires, who must enter this strange new world to keep her young brother alive.
